Did you know that our bodies lose 2.5 to 3 litres of water a day through breathing, sweating, urinating? Drinking lots of liquids is doubly important in summer because the heat, especially when coupled with physical exertion, increases the body’s need for moisture. Foods like fruits, vegetables, milk, meat and fish supply our bodies with about 1 litre of water a day, leaving 1.5 to 2 litres to be obtained directly from various liquids. Tap water is the primary source for replenishing lost fluids but it isn’t the only one.
