Mom!
Mother’s Day is just around the corner! Every year, a special day
is dedicated to all moms. This year, Sunday, May 9 is Mother’s
Day!
Surprise your mom on this special occasion and head for the
kitchen. Don’t forget to ask an adult for help if you need
it.
To get the day started with a smile, here is a simple and colourful
idea that the whole family will love…especially your mom!
Fruit sensation
- Select a variety of fruits
- Cut them in two, in four, in rounds, in squares or in heart shape
- Slide them onto skewers and arrange them on a pretty platter
- Serve them to mom when she wakes up
To honour your mother on her special day, offer her a gift that
you made by yourself.
Here
is an idea for a book entitled ‘Mom’s Best Recipe’… one that you
can make with her!
Here is what you will need:
- A ruled copy book
- A sheet of white paper
- Crayons or markers
- Scissors and glue
- Small dry foods (ex.: noodles, coffee beans, cereals, etc.)
To make your Mom’s Best Recipe book look really great, you have to:
- Decorate the book cover either by gluing on an arrangement of dry foods or by colouring your favourite foods directly on the cover
- Leave a small space on the cover for a sticker
- Cut out a rectangular-shaped sticker out of the white sheet of paper and glue it onto the book cover. In your very best handwriting, write: Mom’s Best Recipe
Inside the book, carefully write:
- The name of your favourite recipe
- The list of ingredients and necessary utensils
And don’t forget to tell your mom that you can’t wait to make that
recipe with her!
