Beef, turkey, chicken and pork roasts

 

Your METRO deli counter also carries a variety of cooked, plain or smoked, ready-to-slice roasts including pork, beef, chicken, and plain or smoked turkey.

Some of these are pre-sliced and vacuum-packed and available in the self-serve deli counter.

Characteristics

These roasts are very practical because they offer the possibility of getting a whole range of cooked meats without having to cook them yourself!

A few slices of roasted pork, a few slices of smoked turkey, a little roast beef and voilà! A great ready-to-serve cold cut platter!

Culinary tips and advice

Try the great classics :

  • Slice or dice and add to omelettes and quiches
  • Use as pizza garnish
  • Cut in strips and add to cold or warm salads
  • Slice or dice and add to cold pasta salads
  • Cut in thicker slices, pan-fry and serve as a main meal
  • Excellent with raclette
  • And, of course, use one, two, three or even four different meats in “hungry-man” sandwiches and submarines!

Roast beef vol-au-vent with an explosion of mushrooms

  • Preheat oven to 160º C (325º F) and warm the vol-au-vent pastries
  • In a frying pan, melt a little butter and sauté a variety of thinly-sliced mushroom. Set aside.
  • In another frying pan, heat olive oil and sauté thinly-sliced onions and peppers.
  • Add a little HP sauce, mustard and red wine. Reduce.
  • Add salt and pepper.
  • Add mushrooms and the thinly-sliced roast beef, cook until warm.
  • Pour the mixture over the hot vol-au-vent pastry shells.
Polenta with smoked turkey and pesto
  • In a little olive oil, pan-fry slices of firm polenta.
  • Coat each slice with pesto.
  • Garnish with smoked turkey and paprika or tomato and basil.
  • Top with a cherry tomato.
