Cooking methods for ham

 


Flavour your ham the way you like it! Even if it is already cooked.

 

 

 

Cooked ham
  • Set ham in a large casserole and cover with flavoured liquid such as beer, water with brown sugar or maple syrup and add an acidulated liquid, white wine vinegar or soy sauce.
  • Add herbs, spices and especially fresh peppercorn.
  • Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
  • Simmer over low heat for at least 30 minutes.
Oven-roasted ham
  • Preheat oven to 160º C (325º F).
  • Trim skin and score the fat around the ham.
  • Place ham on the rack of your roasting pan.
  • Cover the ham with pineapple slices or try apples, apricots or oranges.
  • Pour 250 ml (1 cup) of fruit juice and 190 ml (3/4 cup) of maple syrup over the ham.
  • Roast in the oven for 90 minutes.
