Actually a variety of snow pea, the sugar snap pea also has an edible pod. Sugar snap peas are plump, bright green and crisp. They are smaller and contain fewer seeds but are just as delicious as snow peas.

The seeds of the sugar snap pea are not all round; they vary in shape and size.
