(Québec, July 27, 2004) – The Brunet banner will soon have a new branch in Canton de Granby. The pharmacy is owned by Guy Pinel and pharmacist Brigitte Bachand, and is currently a Clini-Plus store located at 68 Court Street in Granby. Relocation to 560 Conrad is scheduled for November. The new Brunet branch involves investments of over $1,250,000. The store will occupy a total of 9,600 sq. ft. and enable a dozen jobs to be created in the region.
With the same professional team, the new Brunet pharmacy will offer customers a wider range of professional services and pharmaceutical products. The store will feature a comprehensive orthopedic department, a Brunet banner exclusive, where customers can buy or rent equipment. Shoppers will also discover a huge array of natural products, as well as books and light music. “We want to differentiate ourselves from other pharmacies, not only with a wider variety of merchandise but also with more personalized service and a friendlier atmosphere. Blood sugar testing will be available, and a whole section will be devoted to specialized items for our diabetic customers,” explained pharmacist Brigitte Bachand.
“We also want to get involved in the Granby community. Even before the plans for the new Brunet branch were officially announced, I agreed to sponsor the TOUS UNIS CONTRE LE CANCER campaign. The funds raised will be used to buy medical equipment to fight breast cancer, for Granby Hospital,” announced Guy Pinel who, with business partner Brigitte Bachand, also owns the Brunet pharmacy in Bromont.
The Brunet banner, due to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2005, has 104 stores across Québec and is owned by METRO INC., a leader in the Quebec and Ontario food and pharmaceutical sectors. Company banners include Metro, Super C, Loeb and Clini-Plus.
