(Québec, July 30, 2004) – The management deplores the fact that employees at the Super C store in Beauport and the Marché Extra in Lévis have decided to go on strike instead of seeking a negotiated solution. These employees are being offered some of the most advantageous conditions available, despite very high operating costs compared with the competition.
Due to the fiercely competitive environment in the food sector in the Quebec City region, the Company was recently obliged to make major decisions, which included closing the Super C store in Neufchâtel. For the Super C in Beauport, a conciliator has already been appointed.
The management apologizes to clients for any inconvenience caused by this situation. Until the conflict is resolved, customers are invited to shop at the Super C on Autoroute Duplessis in Ste-Foy.
Super C is a leader in the discount supermarket segment in Quebec, and provides jobs for more than 5,000 people in Quebec and Ontario.
