January 25, 2006 - Super C Management Reflects on Practice of Offering Lottery Tickets

MONTREAL, January 25th, 2006 – The senior management of Super C stores announces that it has decided to reflect on the practice of offering lottery tickets to clients when they are at the cash register. Until the procedure has been given due consideration, none of the employees will have to sell lottery tickets to customers.

Meetings will be held today with the employees of the Portland Super C store who refused to abide by this practice last weekend, before they return to work.

The management would like to reiterate the fact that offering lottery tickets has been part of the welcome procedure of Super C clients for many years, just like verifying discount coupons and checking for products located in a shopping basket’s lower section. This directive is not related to any level of performance.

The management of Super C is concerned with the welfare of its employees and respect is at the heart of its preoccupations.
