(Montreal, June 1, 2006) - Super C, a division of METRO INC., is pleased to officially open its brand-new discount supermarket at 981, Nordique avenue, in Beauport. Following construction work that required investments close to $7 million, the 55th store of the Super C chain in Quebec boasts a shopping area of close to 46,000 square feet and creates close to 90 new jobs in the area.
The Beauport Super C will continually provide neighbourhood residents with a vast selection of food products, as well as non-food items, at affordable prices. “At Super C, we have pledged to provide cost-conscious families the most affordable grocery bill they’ll find anywhere, in a clean, pleasant environment, every single day. That is our mission and our commitment,” enthused Richard Beaubien, Vice-President, Operations, Super C. “We’ve spared no effort to ensure that we provide prime-quality products at discount prices all under the same roof, in a friendly environment where grocery shopping is pleasant, quick and easy. But that’s not all: Super C is differentiating itself even more with the introduction of a new store concept—updated logo, dynamic image and new colours that offers a “market” zone (coloured green), where shoppers will find all the fresh produce, and a “depot” zone (in orange), home to the grocery section,” Mr Beaubien added.
Consumers will notice that a lot of attention has been paid to fresh produce. There is an extensive fruit and vegetable section, a bakery department offering a variety of breads and pastries baked in-house, a meat counter featuring superior cuts, a selection of fish and seafood, frozen products and a large grocery section where shoppers will find family-size formats. Super C will also be offering consumers more than 2,000 products from its Super C, Merit Selection, Econochoice and Irresistible private-label lines: prime quality products at super prices.
