Quebec City, Monday, June 4, 2007—The Brunet
banner is proud to announce the upcoming opening of its 114th
branch, in the new Hêtrière medical complex at 3520 rue de
L’Hêtrière in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures.
Owned by pharmacist San Kinkhat, this store will be the first to
reflect an innovative new concept by Brunet. “The new concept will
add a whole new dimension to the pharmacy. Many aspects have been
revamped, from the colors used, the arrangement of the checkout
counters, and the general layout to the addition of new product
lines,” explains Mr. Kinkhat.
The 9,000 square foot store will boast a number of new features
specific to Brunet, including specialized sections for
breastfeeding and home therapy products with items such as exercise
balls, heart monitors, pedometers, and exercisers for seniors. It
will also include a heat/cold therapy section promoting the
application of heat and cold to prevent body aches and injuries
while aiding in relaxation, and will feature a reading glass
display unique to Brunet with a guide to help customers choose the
required strength. In addition to its already popular cosmetics,
skin care, baby product, diabetic product, and orthopedic device
sale/rental departments, the store will include probiotic,
incontinence, and Laura Secord product sections, a one-minute
digital photo printing service with accessories, and a passport,
health insurance, and other photo service, as well as a health
magazine and book section, a gift and perfume section, and a bulk
nut and healthy snack section.
Scheduled to open in late summer 2007, this 114th store will
require a $2 million investment and will create some twenty jobs.
The in-store Health and Hygiene Program instigated by the Brunet
banner in October will also be in effect: Dispensers containing an
alcohol-based cleaner will be available to customers at the
pharmacy entrance and in the laboratory in order to reduce the
transmission of bacteria.
Owned by METRO RICHELIEU INC., the Brunet banner is celebrating its
152nd anniversary this year. Much of its incredible growth is due
to its continual efforts to improve the products and services it
offers. In the coming year, Brunet plans to open a number of
outlets, all offering its unique and inventive take on the pharmacy
world.
