October 2, 2007 - CÔTE-NORD'S IDÉE SANTÉ PHARMACIES BOUGHT

(Montreal, October 2, 2007) – A number of pharmacists from Quebec’s Côte-Nord have joined the Brunet banner and proceeded to purchase five pharmacies belonging to Mr. Pierre Breton, himself a pharmacist. One of the region’s most influential businessmen, Mr. Breton operated his pharmacies under the Idée Santé banner and stocked up mainly at Familiprix.

“We’re very pleased with this important transaction which will position Brunet as the most important banner on the Côte Nord. The Brunet affiliated pharmacists who negotiated these acquisitions are, for the most part, from the Côte-Nord region and are well known to people in the area. We are convinced that clients from the region will enjoy a privileged relationship with professionals who are committed to maintaining the same level of personalized service that made the reputation of Mr. Breton’s pharmacies,” declared Denise Martin, Vice-President and General Manager, McMahon Distributeur pharmaceutique inc.

Thanks to this transaction, Brunet adds the following pharmaceutical establishments to its Port-Cartier branch:

  • Mr. Claude Morin,  Les Escoumins, and his satellite located at 111 rue Principale, Sacré-Cœur,
  • Mrs. Sylvie Dion, Mrs. Dominique Paquet and Mr. Benoit Paradis in Baie-Comeau,
  • Mr. Jean-Luc Nadeau in Forestville,
  • Mr. Nancy St-Pierre in Chute-aux-Outardes, and,
  • Mr. Daniel Vaillancourt in Havre-St-Pierre.

Brunet is proud to welcome the new owners and their employees.
