(Montreal, December 3rd, 2007) – METRO announces
organizational changes at the head of its Québec and Ontario
divisions.
Alain Brisebois, currently, Senior Vice-President, Ontario Division, is appointed Senior Vice-President, Quebec Division, where he has previously worked for many years, most recently as Senior Vice President, Wholesale Operations.
Robert Sawyer, currently Senior Vice President, Quebec Division, is appointed Senior Vice President, Ontario Division. With his considerable expertise in operations and merchandising, Mr. Sawyer will continue the work undertaken by Alain Brisebois since 2005.
The last year was an important one for the company, making significant progress with the integration of A&P Canada acquired in 2005, while at the same time achieving growth for a 17th consecutive year. This reorganization will allow the company to better meet the challenges of the competitive food retailing industry.
These appointments will be effective January 3rd, 2008.
