(Montreal, May 14, 2008) – The quality of the
B2C section of the metro.ca website has been recognized one more
time since it was ranked 5th of the Indice Internet SECOR-Commerce,
a growth of two ranks compared to last year’s results. The 7th
edition of the Indice Internet SECOR-Commerce took place this
morning at the Montreal Omni Mont-Royal Hôtel where the results of
the TOP 25 B2C websites in Quebec were announced.
Since 1998, METRO has invested in its website and it has become the
main source of food information for Quebecers. « This award proves
that our Internet communication strategy meets consumers’ needs.
Its constant popularity growth shows customers’ eagerness for our
website and our Company, » mentioned Mr. Serge Boulanger,
Vice-President, Marketing at METRO Inc. « This annual
classification also confirms the quality of the work of our team
and provides visitors with a site adapted to needs of today’s
clientele always requesting novelties in their food basket. We are
always looking for new information that meets the specific needs of
each of our visitors », concluded Mr. Boulanger.
The Indice Internet SECOR-Commerce has been implemented to measure
the worth captation potential of websites intended for a general
public. The strength of this survey is that it is not a unique
evaluation process which reports on anything, but many approaches
put the emphasis on creation of worth for the customer (SECOR), the
user’s experience (S2i Web), the communicability (ConseilAction)
and user’s tests (Cognilab). In order to be considered by the
Indice Internet SECOR-Commerce, nominating companies must be part
of the Commerce 500 listing and have their head office in Quebec.
Only companies with promotional or transactional B2C initiatives
are evaluated. For more information on the survey, visit the
website www.indice-secor-commerce.com
