May 27, 2008 - Metro, Metro Plus, Super C and Marché Richelieu Modify the Days of Validity of their Flyer

(Montreal – May 27, 2008) –Metro, Metro Plus, Super C and Marché Richelieu supermarkets will modify their flyers’ days of validity as of Thursday June 5th. This change will bring the flyer consultation closer to the purchasing moment, which for the majority of the Quebec consumers is from Thursday to Sunday.

« The results of our research show that our customers purchase the majority of their weekly grocery items from Thursday to Sunday and wish to benefit from the weekly specials just after they see the flyer. The change in the validity days of the flyer reflects these desires », said Mr. Serge Boulanger, Vice-President, Marketing, METRO Inc.

For METRO, this decision aligns with the hectic lifestyles of most Quebeckers whose busy schedules don’t allow a lot of time for meal planning. Now, when customers look at the Metro, Metro Plus, Super C and Marché Richelieu flyers on Wednesdays, they will be able to benefit from the specials the day after.

During the transition week, Metro, Metro Plus, Super C and Marché Richelieu will issue a special flyer which will be valid for 10 days, from May 26th to June 4th. Also, on Wednesday May 28th, there will be a special insert featuring new promotions that will be available until Wednesday, June 4th.
