The Messier group invests over $7 million

Montreal, March 13, 2009 – Following the major expansion of the Longueuil Metro Plus, located at 2642 Chemin, local residents will now find more solutions to their varied and growing food needs. The new store has almost doubled in size and has increased from 29,879 square feet to 43,426 square feet.

The expanded Metro Plus will offer:

  • A wide range of Quebec cheeses
  • An innovative fresh fruit and vegetable department
  • Many organic products
  • A master butcher and a gourmet fish counter
  • A larger variety of RedGril Angus beef
  • A large supply of imported and micro-brewed beers and wines
  • Hundreds of health and beauty products at very competitive prices
  • A pastry counter

Customers will find not only a wide array of choices for their daily meal needs, but also a large selection of brand-name health and beauty products at prices comparable to those in pharmacies.

Thanks to an investment of nearly $7M, this store, superbly designed according to the Metro Plus concept, will create 25 new jobs that will be added to the 75 existing positions.

Gilbert Tremblay, owner of the Longueuil Metro Plus, and his team invite local residents to drop by their store to enjoy a completely unique supermarket experience.
