New discount store offers residents, Always more for
Less!
MISSISSAUGA, June 3, 2009 – Mississauga residents
can now appreciate always more for less when they visit their new
Food Basics store at 7070 Saint Barbara Blvd (corner of Derry Rd
and McLaughlin Rd) beginning Wednesday, June 3, 2009. The new store
offers price savvy customers a wide assortment of quality grocery,
produce, dairy and meat products all at low prices. To celebrate
the opening, the first 2,000 customers will receive a limited
edition Food Basics reusable bag.
“We want to thank everyone for their excitement during the building
of this new store and we are certain they will be impressed with
the selection of low-priced fresh and grocery items designed to
complete their everyday shopping needs,” said Bob Seguin, vice
president discount operations.“This is where customers can find
items always more for less.”
Join store manager Trevor Sequeira along with director of field
merchandising George Lotoski and Bob Seguin for the official
opening at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3.
In-store activities taking place on June 3 include musical
entertainment by the Island Sound Steel Drum Band (8:00 a.m. to
7:30 p.m.) stilt walkers and balloonists (8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.).
Customers will also have a chance to win a $100 shopping spree from
Food Basics.
Food Basics is Metro’s discount grocery retail store in Ontario.
With 117 stores across Ontario, Food Basics saves customers money
on their grocery bill by carrying only the best selling brands and
products complemented by our own low-priced private label brands.
