July 31 2009 - Strike Ends at Quebec Grocery Warehouse: Employees ratify an 8 year collective agreement

Montreal, July 31, 2009 – Metro is pleased to
announce that it has reached a long term agreement with the 164
employees of its Quebec grocery warehouse who went on strike on
July 2nd. The settlement was ratified today, and the new
collective agreement will be in force for eight years, thereby
ensuring corporate stability until 2017 under terms that will allow
the company to remain competitive in the industry.
Employees are expected to return to work as of August
2nd.
