(Montreal, November 12, 2009) – Super C is
proud to open its 65th store, located at 770 Laure Blvd. in
Sept-Îles. This major project required a $3.7 million investment
and helped create 60 jobs for the community.
The 25,000-square-foot Sept-Îles Super Coffers a
Market section featuring a large selection of
fresh produce, and an Outlet section for grocery
products. Customers will also discover a meat counter with
high-quality meats prepared by in-house butchers, aisles of frozen
foods and groceries, a bakery section where fresh breads are baked
daily, a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, and low
prices year round .
"We are proud to offer Sept-Îles residents a new generation of
discount stores where they can take advantage of substantial
savings on thousands of products," said Jean-Guy Tremblay,
Vice-President, Operations, Super C. "This store meets the needs of
customers who appreciate the convenience of finding fresh products
and reasonable prices in the same supermarket. "
In order to reduce its environmental footprint, Super C management
integrated several energy-saving measures into the Sept-Îles store.
The refrigeration system is equipped with an electronic controller
for optimal functioning and energy savings. The heat generated by
the compressors is also used to heat part of the store. Finally,
all of the refrigerated counters are equipped with high-efficiency
fans.
Store manager Éric Turcotte and his team invite all residents of
Sept-Îles and the surrounding area to visit the store and discover
the new Super C – the first of a new generation of stores.
Super C is a leader in the discount supermarket sector and employs
over 4,500 people in Quebec.
