Montreal, December 3, 2009 – Daniel Coutu,
franchisee owner of the supermarket Alimentation D. Coutu of
Kirkland, officially opened his new store located at 3801 St.
Charles Boulevard, near the former Metro store last night. An
investment of almost 12 million dollars, increased the retail space
by 13,000 sq. ft. larger and promises to offer customers an
enhanced shopping experience,
"With this new location, as well as increasing our total surface
area to 42,000 sq. ft., we have adopted the new Metro Plus concept
of a more modern and inviting store. We can now offer area
residents more solutions to their varied and growing food needs,"
said Daniel Coutu.
Not only does the grocery store provide customers with many daily
meal options, but it also contains different sections offering:
- A wide range of Quebec cheeses;
- A precut fruit and vegetable section;
- An international products aisle;
- Meals prepared in store by a chef;
- A master butcher and a gourmet fish counter;
- A larger variety of Red Grill Angus Beef;
- A Mito sushi counter;
- A greater assortment of organic products;
- A flower shop with florist;
- A large high-end water section;
- Hundreds of health and beauty products at very competitive prices;
- A bakery counter where bread is baked fresh daily;
- A pastry counter with services.
The new Metro Plus has provided 50 new jobs for Kirkland area
residents in addition to the 100 exisiting jobs.
Mr. Coutu and his team invite area residents to come meet them and
