Metro Ontario’s vision is to be the best community retailer in the minds of our employees, customers, vendors, and investors. Part of being the best retailer in the community is being involved and giving back. We have always been a strong supporter of our communities through our stores and will continue this legacy with our employee donation program – The Metro Full Plate Program. Through the Metro Full Plate Program, our employees have a chance to make a difference in someone’s life. The Metro Full Plate Program will support four food related charities; United Way, Second Harvest, Ontario Association of Food Banks and Breakfast Clubs of Canada.
Breakfast Clubs of Canada is a national organization dedicated to providing children a nutritious breakfast through community-based school breakfast programs. We provide funding to various program partner agencies catering breakfasts in schools, and we also provide services and financial support directly to community-based school breakfast programs. www.breakfastclubscanada.org
The Ontario Association of Food Banks (OAFB) is a network of 120 food banks across the province. Our member organizations distribute food through over one thousand community food programs including soup kitchens, shelters, community kitchens, food pantries, drop-in centers, and breakfast programs. Every year, the OAFB acquires and distributes over eight million pounds of fresh and non-perishable food through food drives, corporate food donations, agricultural donation programs, and food purchases. www.oafb.ca
Fostering compassion and understanding, United Way is based on
the firm conviction that what unites us is ultimately
more powerful than what divides us. Raised local, stays local, is
what it is about. Your support will go back into your local
community’s services and programs where you live, work and raise
your families. Your support will help to strengthen our community,
and meet the urgent human needs of those who are less
fortunate. http://www.unitedway.ca.
