Members receive one point for each dollar spent (calculated on the amount before taxes). They just present their card at the cash when they pay and the points are automatically entered in their account. This simple procedure allows members to see the regular and bonus points accumulated and account balances on their cash receipts.
How are regular points accumulated?
Are points given for all products or are there product exclusions?
No points are given for the following products: tobacco, lottery tickets, bus tickets or passes, gift cards, gift certificates, prepaid phone cards, stamps, postal services, dry cleaning, film and video game rentals, bottle and can deposits, SAQ products, delivery charges and donations.
How does one get bonus points?
There are four ways to get bonus points:
- Bonus points on specific specially identified in-store products: when these are purchased bonus points are automatically given.
- Bonus points on specific specially identified in-store products and quantities: bonus points are automatically given if you buy the specified amount for bonus points.
- Bonus points via special paper coupon offers (ex.: 20 bonus points with any purchase of $75 or more). Such offers apply only when the coupon is presented at the cash; the points are then given.
- Bonus points via special paper coupon multiplier offers (ex.: Double your points with any purchase of $75 or more). Such offers apply only to regular points and only when the coupon is presented at the cash.
Can members of the same family accumulate points in the same account?
The main card and associated key fobs allow points to be accumulated in the same account. The customer can distribute the key fobs to family members (ex.: spouse).
Are the points transferable to another person?
Points and rewards cannot be transferred from one member to another.
How do I find out my point balance?
The point balance is calculated with every transaction and clearly shown on the cash register receipt. Members can also check their accounts on Metro’s Web site (www.metro.ca) where they can see their point balance, personal information and a description of their latest transactions (ex.: regular points, bonus points, adjustments). If members want further information after checking on-line, they can call Member services who will be able to give more details on point allocation, their balance, etc.
Do transactions show up instantly in my account on-line?
Yes, your metro&moi account on the Web (via www.metro.ca) will show the transaction particulars instantly. (N.B. transaction particulars, i.e. the items purchased, are available about 48 hours later from Member services.)
Can points be accumulated in all Metro stores?
Members can accumulate points in participating Metro stores. Note that the Metro in Fermont is excluded from the metro&moi program. The list of participating stores is available on the metro.ca Web site.
Can points be accumulated in all Metro Metro Richelieu inc. banners?
The metro&moi reward program is available exclusively in participating Metro and Metro Plus stores. Points cannot be accumulated in other banner stores.
Can points be accumulated in Ontario Metro stores?
The metro&moi reward program is available only in Québec.
