Hooray for collective cooking!
August arrives with all its aromas,
colours, bountiful harvests. Time to stock up on fresh fruit and
vegetables. Gather family and friends for a day of shared cooking
you’ll cherish all year. And start a tradition that hopefully
will prevail for years to come.
Take advantage of harvest time
Harvest time is here. Your grocer's shelves are teeming with beets, asparagus, gherkins, artichokes, green and yellow beans, leeks, field tomatoes, squash, blueberries, cherries, raspberries and strawberries, all adding zest to your meals with freshness and flavour.
To enjoy it year-round, now's the time to stock up. Why not gather family and friends to share in the joy of making your own preserves? Fruit compote, ketchup, mixes of all sorts. Stews, spaghetti sauce, canned or blanched vegetables.
Start a tradition
Now's the perfect time to set in motion a tradition you can repeat each year. Use it to pick up culinary tips from your family and friends. Create a holiday mood to mark the day. Listen to pieces of music that bring back fond memories. Sip a good glass of wine or rosé. Above all, chat and share good moments with the people you like most.
Children can lend a hand. Ask them to trim beans, crush strawberries for jam or peel carrots. Why not make them your official tasters!
