Spring Cleaning Time
Spring cleaning is a yearly undertaking that signals
the end of winter and reminds us that summer is near. Spring
cleaning remains a chore but there is a way to make the process
more enjoyable. Here is a recipe for success.
Good company and good fun.
Form a clean-up day much like you would a group cooking session.
It’s mutually rewarding and less tedious to work as a group.
Good lively music will energize the proceedings!
A few tips and suggestions
- Prepare three boxes or bins in which you can separate clothing and other articles that you want to keep, give away or repair. This first step really helps clear the way for the rest.
- Once you have wiped the grease and dust from the top of your kitchen cabinets, lay some newspaper over them: next year’s clean up will be a snap.
- Only the kitchen and bathroom walls need to be washed. The other walls generally don’t need such deep cleaning; wiping off the scuff marks is usually enough.
- Keep the kitchen for last: it’s the heaviest traffic area.
Proper planning is the secret
- Plan your day by first making sure you have all your favourite cleaning products on hand. When possible, buy refills, they are cheaper and better for the environment.
- Set a time for your cleaning squad to meet.
- Make a list of the chores that need to be done and let everyone select the one they prefer.
Prepare lunch or a snack for the troops.

Have a good Spring !
