Thunder Bucks Terms & Conditions
1. Metro Ontario Inc. (“Metro”) Thunder Bucks (“the program”) launched in August, 1997 at A&P in Thunder Bay.
2. The Thunder Bucks Program is owned and administered by Metro. The program uses your Super Saver Card only to keep track of your purchases and Thunder Points earned. If you have an inquiry regarding the Thunder Bucks Program please contact our Customer Care Department at www.metro.ca or 1-877-763-7374.
3. You must use your Super Saver Card for every transaction in order to accumulate Thunder Points. If you are not yet enrolled in the Thunder Bucks Program, you may visit the Metro stores in Thunder Bay for details.
4. Thunder Bucks is a program that enables you to earn free grocery gift certificates. You earn 1 Thunder Point for every $20 in grocery product purchases, accumulated weekly (Sunday through Saturday at any Metro in Thunder Bay).
5. The following exclusions apply: taxes, tobacco products, lottery, transit tickets, stamps, gift card purchases, prescriptions, prescription services and professional pharmacy services, and Western Union.
6. When you accumulate 125 Thunder Points, we will automatically mail you a $20 gift certificate to the current address that we have on file within our Super Saver Customer database. Metro is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate data. You are responsible for updating address changes directly with Metro. You can expect a delivery time of two to four weeks, from the time you have earned 125 Thunder Points, to receive your gift certificate. In the event of a Canada Post strike, all gift certificates will be held indefinitely until the strike is resolved.
7. The Thunder Bucks Program does not currently have a termination date. Metro reserves the right to terminate the program at any time, by providing 30 days notice in the weekly flyers and notices posted in the participating stores.
8. Metro may restrict, suspend or otherwise alter aspects of the program, with or without notice.
9. All qualifying “bonus” Thunder Points items will be identified by the Thunder Bucks logo located on the shelf tags and or are advertised in the weekly flyer. Metro reserves the right to add or remove items without notice.
10. Accumulation of Thunder Points is automatic when you use your Super Saver Card and purchase $20.00 in grocery items. You may have your name removed from the Thunder Bucks Program upon written request to the Metro Customer Care Department at www.metro.ca or 1-877-763-7374.
11. There is a limit of 750 Points (6 gift certificates) that may be earned in a single week.
12. If a mailing is returned to us as undeliverable, we will hold the gift certificate for a period of 1 year. After 1 year the gift certificate becomes the property of Metro. The Thunder Points will not be reinstated to the collector account. Metro will not be responsible for any gift certificates that have been lost, stolen or mis-directed.
13. Metro will not be liable or responsible in any manner for any tax consequences, which may flow from the participation of any non-Ontario resident in the program.
14. Any abuse of the program's privileges, failure to follow its rules, regulations, terms and conditions, or any misrepresentation may, at Metro's sole discretion, subject participants to cancellation from the program, including forfeiture of all accumulated Thunder Points.
15. Thunder Points are not transferable from one Thunder Bucks Member to another.
16. Thunder Bucks gift certificates cannot be accumulated or redeemed by a business or anyone other than an individual consumer for personal use, unless approval is received in advance in writing from Metro.
17. Thunder Points will be accumulated solely in Thunder Bay using the Super Saver Card. Points earned on a Super Saver Card will not be combined with Points earned using an AIR MILES® Collector Card. They will be collected and rewarded separately.
18. In the case of refunds, Thunder Points will be manually deducted from the Super Saver Cardholder's account.
19. In the event of a lost or stolen Super Saver Card, the accumulated Thunder Points cannot be transferred to a new card number. If a new Card is issued using the original card number, the Points will remain in the same account, and will continue to accumulate as usual.
20. Thunder Points have no cash value and are not exchangeable for cash. Thunder Points cannot be sold or purchased. Thunder Points are void if sold for cash or any other consideration.
21. Unredeemed Thunder Points will expire 12 months from the time the point is earned.
