Recipe ingredients
- 8 European sausages (flavour to taste)
- Tomato sauce
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) Irresistibles olive oil *
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 14 ounces (398 mL) spicy diced tomatoes
- 1 carrot, peeled and chopped
- 1 stalk celery with leaves, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) fresh oregano, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) sweet basil, chopped
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) sugar*
- To taste pepper
Preparation
Blanch the sausages for 10 minutes. Prick with a fork. Set aside.
In a skillet, heat the oil and sauté the onions and garlic. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer on medium heat for 5 minutes. Check seasoning.
Preheat the barbecue or frying pan to medium heat.
Grill the sausages for 6 minutes.
Brush the sausages with tomato sauce.
