Recipe ingredients
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) hoisin sauce
- 1/4 (60 mL) honey*
- 1/4 (60 mL) ketchup*
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tsp. (10 mL) Chinese five-spice blend
- 2 pork tenderloins, 7 1/2 oz. (225 g) each
- Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Preparation
Preheat oven to 375ºF/190ºC.
In a bowl, mix hoisin sauce, honey, ketchup, garlic and five-spice blend. Baste each tenderloin with 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) of the mixture.
Place tenderloins on a rack in a shallow pan and insert a meat thermometer in the thickest part of one of the tenderloins.
Roast for 15-20 min. or until thermometer reads 160ºF/70ºC.
Meanwhile, in a small pan, heat remaining basting sauce and ¼ cup (60 mL) water over medium-low heat for 10 min., stirring occasionally.
Take tenderloins out of oven and let stand for 2-3 min. Slice thin, season to taste and top with a little sauce. Serve with couscous and sautéed bok choy and apples.
