Recipe ingredients
- 1/2 recipe of pizza dough
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) pizza sauce
- 2 10-oz. (300-g.) bags fresh spinach, trimmed
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) butter*
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 cup (250 mL) sliced mushrooms
- 3 plum tomatoes, sliced
- 1 1/2 (375 mL) cups grated provolone
- 12 fresh basil leaves
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400°F/200°C.
Prepare pizza dough and lay it on a lightly oiled and floured round baking sheet, spread with sauce.
Wash spinach. In a saucepan, cook spinach covered until slightly wilted. Drain carefully and chop coarsely.
In a skillet, cook garlic in melted butter for 1 minute. Add spinach and cook 1 minute more. Spread spinach over pizza sauce.
Cover with mushrooms and sliced tomatoes and top with cheese and basil.
Bake 20 minutes on the lowest grill.
