Recipe ingredients

  • 4 live lobsters
  • Marinade:
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) sake
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) each: olive oil* and melted butter*
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) soya sauce*
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) grated fresh ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped

Preparation

In a large pot of water, boil lobsters for 2 min.
Cut lobsters in two lengthways, remove the small pocket near the head and pat meat dry. Set aside.
In a bowl, mix marinade ingredients together. Baste lobsters generously with marinade, cover and refrigerate 60 min.
Preheat barbecue on medium heat.
Wipe excess marinade off lobsters.
Place lobsters, meat side down, on the grill.
Cook 5-6 min.

Suggestion

Sake can be replaced with 1/3 cup (80 mL) white wine.
