Recipe ingredients
- 1 can 6 oz (184 g) tuna in water, drained*
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1/2 red hot pepper, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) cheddar cheese, grated*
- 1/3 cup (80 mL) mayonnaise*
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) raisins*
- 3 whole wheat pitas
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
In a bowl, mix tuna with vegetables and cheese. Add mayonnaise and raisins, mix well.
Slice each pita in four wedges and open carefully without breaking. Use a fork to garnish each wedge with the tuna mix and place on a cookie sheet.
Place in the oven for about 10 minutes or until pitas are either warm or begin to get crispy. Turn at mid-cooking.
Suggestion
Also use mini-pitas or garnish the bottom of muffin moulds with a slice of bread which is grilled and on which the tuna mix is then spread.* We recommend Selection and Irresistibles products.
