Recipe ingredients

  • 1 lb. (450 g) tagliatelle
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) butter *
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 leek, white part only, chopped
  • 1 lemon, juice only
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) white wine or chicken broth *
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) ground saffron
  • 2 12-oz (340 g) pkgs Merit Selection The Irresistibles Seafood Mix, thawed
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) whipping cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) grated Parmesan
  • Chopped fresh parsley and lemon zest to taste

Preparation

Cook pasta according to package instructions. Set aside. In a skillet, heat butter and brown garlic and leek for 2 minutes. Add lemon juice, wine and saffron. Reduce by a third.

Add seafood and cook 2-3 minutes, reducing again by a third. Add cream and simmer 5-6 minutes to thicken. Season to taste. Pour seafood sauce over pasta and sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan, parsley and lemon zest.
