Recipe ingredients

  • 4 halves canned pears
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) pear coulis
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) raspberry coulis
  • 8 scoops any flavour of Nestlé ice-cream coffee crisp, smarties, turtles

Preparation

Slice pears in a fan shape ; reserve.
In separate service plates, spread pear coulis and raspberry coulis.
Place halved pears over coulis ; add ice-cream.
Sprinkle with icing sugar or cocoa powder and serve with ice-cream wafers if desired.

Suggestion

Pear coulis : 14 oz (398 mL) of canned pears with juice, 2 tbsp (30 mL) of cornstarch. Cook for 2 minutes then blend in food processor.
Raspberry coulis : 1 cup (250 mL) of fresh or frozen raspberries, 2 tbsp (30 mL) of cornstarch. Cook for 2 minutes ; blend in food processor and force through a sieve.
