Recipe ingredients

  • 1½ lb. (675 g) smoked ham, cubed
  • 3 oz. (95 mL) whiskey (preferably Irish)
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) clover honey
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) butter*
  • 1 bunch Swiss chard
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) Irresistibles olive oil*
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

In a bowl, marinate cubed ham in 2 oz. (65 mL) whiskey and honey for some 15 minutes.
Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat, and brown marinated cubes.
Deglaze with leftover marinade. Season with pepper and adjust salt if necessary.
Turn off the heat and add remaining whiskey. Keep in a baking dish in a warm oven.
In the same skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add garlic, then chard.
Sauté over high heat for a few minutes. Season with salt and pepper and serve immediately with ham.
