Recipe ingredients
- 2 garlic cloves
- 45 mL (3 tbsp) pine nuts
- 30 mL (2 tbsp) grated Romano or parmesan
- 250 mL (1 cup) fresh basil, washed
- 80 mL (1/3 cup) Irresistibles* extra virgin olive oil
Preparation
In a food processor, mix garlic, pine nuts, and cheese.
Add basil leaves.
Puree in a food processor for 3 to 4 minutes and add the oil slowly in a thin stream.
Suggestion
Pesto is an aromatic condiment that can be used with pasta, pizza, shellfish recipes, etc.It can be kept 2 to 3 weeks in the fridge. To better keep its flavour, add olive oil on the top.
To serve with pasta, cook the pasta al dente, drain and then mix them with pesto.
