Recipe ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) sunflower oil
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) snow peas
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) bean sprouts
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) julienne red peppers
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) sliced mushrooms
- 12 oz (350g) strips of blade steak, European cut, 1/8 po. (2 mm) thick
- Sauce
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) Irresistible lemon juice*
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) Irresistible soya sauce*
- 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) grated fresh ginger or 1 pinch Irresistible ground ginger*
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) cornstarch*
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) undiluted beef consommé
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) corn syrup
Preparation
Preheat wok to high and brown vegetables in 1 Tbsp (15 mL) oil, just enough to soften; transfer to a bowl.
Add 1 Tbsp (15 mL) oil; when hot, stir-fry beef strips 45 seconds until browned.
Add marinade and boil 10 seconds. Mix with sautéed vegetables and serve.
Suggestion
Utensils: A flat-bottomed wok for a bigger surface in contact with the burner. If you don't have a wok, use a heavy frying pan.Origin: Chinese
