Recipe ingredients
- 4 pitas*
- 1 cup (250 mL) tomato sauce
- 2 tsp. (10 mL) Irresistibles dried herbs*
- To taste Yves Veggie salami slices
- 1 cup (250 mL) sliced mushrooms
- 2 cups (500 mL) broccoli and cauliflower flowerets
- 1/4 each green and red sweet peppers, in strips
- 1 red onion, sliced
- 3 cups (750 mL) grated Mozzarella cheese*
Preparation
Preheat oven to 400°F / 200°C.
Split pitas and place on a baking sheet.
In a bowl, mix tomato sauce and herbs. Spread evenly over each pita.
Top each pita with salami slices and vegetables, then cheese.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese browns.
Suggestion
For an Italian flavour, spread pesto sauce over each pita bread before the tomato sauce.* We recommend Selection and Irresistibles products.
