Recipe ingredients

  • 3-4 peeled pears, halved
  • 2/3 cup (160 mL) apple juice
  • 1 cup (250 mL) red wine
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) nutmeg
  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) raisins, finely chopped

Preparation

Put pears in a pan with apple juice, red wine, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer at medium low 10 minutes.
Add raisins, remove from heat and cool.
Serve well-chilled.
