Recipe ingredients
- 1 cup (250 mL) red wine
- 2 sage leaves or 1/4 tsp. (1 mL) dried sage
- 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 lb (675 g) pork strips
- 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) vegetable oil
- 1/2 chopped onion
- 1 chopped garlic clove
- 1 orange, in wedges
- 1 grapefruit, in wedges
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) canned cherries, drained
- 1 cup (250 mL) orange juice
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) cornstarch
- To taste salt and pepper
Preparation
Mix the wine, sage and cinnamon in a bowl.
Place the pork in this mixture and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Heat the oil in a large skillet. Brown the onion and garlic.
Add the pork and marinade. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
Add the fruit and continue cooking for 1 minute.
Mix the juice and cornstarch. Add to the skillet and cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Season.
Serve on rice.
