Recipe ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) vegetable oil*
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 cup (250 mL) beef bouillon*
  • 1 cup (250 mL) fruit juice*
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) salt
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) pepper*
  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) dried thyme*
  • 3 cored (3 cored,) and sliced apples
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) cornstarch*
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) water
  • 1/2 pineapple, cubed

Preparation

Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the onions and brown for 2 minutes.
Add the pork chops. Cover and continue cooking for 3 minutes.
Turn the chops and continue cooking for 3 minutes.
Mix the beef bouillon, fruit juice, Worcestershire sauce and seasonings in a bowl.
Pour over the chops and simmer on low heat for 4 to 5 minutes.
Add the apples.
Mix the cornstarch with the water and blend it into the mixture.
Mix well and cook until thickened.
Add the pineapple and simmer for 2 minutes.
Serve with rice.

Suggestion

Make incisions in the fat around the chops without touching the meat to prevent it from shrinking during cooking.
