Recipe ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. (675 g) horsemeat sirloin, cubed
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) oil*
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) Irresistibles dried thyme*
  • 2 red apples cut into fine strips
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) Irresistibles balsamic vinegar*
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) apple juice*
  • 1 pinch Irresistibles ground cinnamon*
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

In a glass bowl, mix the horsemeat cubes, garlic and 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) oil.
In a pan, on medium heat, heat the rest of the oil. Sear the cubes lightly.
As soon as the meat is browned, spread the strips of apple on top and pour in the balsamic vinegar and the apple juice.
Sprinkle with cinnamon. Salt, pepper and cover.
As soon as the sauce comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
Remove from the heat and let them rest uncovered, for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.

Suggestion

The horsemeat cubes can be replaced with horsemeat tournedos.
