Recipe ingredients

  • 1 lb. (450 g) fresh scallops
  • 1 lb. (450 g) fresh shrimp
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) unsalted butter*
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) chopped ginger
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) unsweetened orange juice*
  • 3/4 cup (180 mL)garlic salad dressing*
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) brown sugar*
  • 1 orange, zest

Preparation

Preheat barbecue to medium heat.
Using wooden skewers prepare 4 brochettes of scallops and 4 of shrimp. Place in glass dish and set aside.
In a saucepan, bring ginger sauce ingredients to a boil and remove from heat.
Place brochettes on an oiled sheet of aluminum foil and baste with sauce.
Cook on grill for 2 to 3 minutes, turning frequently. Baste during cooking.

Suggestion

Fresh scallops keep for 1 to 2 days in the refrigerator, in an airtight container.
