Recipe ingredients

  • 1 lb. (450 g) fresh ground turkey
  • 1 cup (250 mL) seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 m) extra virgin olive oil
  • Basting Mix
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 sprig fresh chopped rosemary
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) fresh lemon juice

Preparation

In a bowl, mix the turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, mustard and oil. Make 4 equal-sized patties about 1 cm (3/16 in.) thick. Set aside in the refrigerator.
In a frying pan, cook the onion, garlic and rosemary in a mixture of butter/oil for about 3 minutes. Deglaze with lemon juice. Cool
Preheat the barbecue to medium heat.
Baste patties with the onion and garlic preparation.
Cook patties for 4 minutes per side.

Suggestion

Adding Dijon mustard to ground turkey brings out the flavour and makes it more tender.
