Recipe ingredients
- 4 oz (115 g) fresh bacon, cubed
- 5 lb. (2.25 kg) cubed beef sirloin
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- Water to cover
- 1/4 (60 mL) cup beef concentrate
- 1 turnip, cubed
- 6 carrots, sliced
- 4 ribs celery, in sections
- 2 cups (500 mL) cups yellow beans
- 2 cups (500 mL) cups green beans
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
In a pan, brown bacon and beef.
Add onions.
Cover with boiling water, add beef concentrate and simmer uncovered 2 hours.
Add the other vegetables, herbs, salt and pepper.
Cook 30 minutes.
