Recipe ingredients

  • Sesame Marinade
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) liquid honey
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) fresh chopped ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 rump steaks, 1/4 (5 mm) thick
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) peanut oil
  • 2 scallions, finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) sesame seeds

Preparation

In a bowl, mix all the sesame marinade ingredients.
Add rump steaks and marinate 2 hours.
In a frying pan, heat oil and sear steaks a few minutes per side.
Remove meat, deglaze the frying pan with the rest of the marinade and boil it.
Pour the sauce over the steaks.
Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds.
