Recipe ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) olive oil
- 8 oz (225 g) spinach leaves
- 1 oz (30 g) sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) tamari sauce
- 1 tsp. (5 mL) sugar
- 3 Tbsp.(45 mL) unsweetened apple juice
Preparation
Toast sesame seeds in olive oil, stirring constantly, until lightly browned. Set aside.
Wash and drain spinach, water left clinging to leaves is sufficient for cooking them.
Cook spinach 2 to 3 minutes in a covered saucepan over high heat.
Drain cooked spinach and set aside.
Grind sesame seeds.
Blend tamari sauce, sugar, apple juice and ground sesame seeds until consistency is creamy.
Chop spinach and transfer to a serving dish.
Cover with sauce and garnish with sesame seeds.
