Recipe ingredients

  • Ingredients - fondue
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) maple syrup*
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) cornstarch*
  • 2 cups (500 mL) 15% cream
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) maple extract
  • Ingredients - fruit:
  • 12 whole strawberries, stemmed
  • 1/2 cantaloupe, balled
  • 1/2 honeydew melon, in scalloped quarters
  • 3 small bunches seedless grapes, green, red and blue
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, cut in 8
  • 2 red apples, cut in 8

Preparation

Preparation - fondue:
In a pan, bring maple syrup to a boil.
Whisk the cornstarch into the cream and pour into the boiling maple syrup.
Simmer 1 minute.
Add maple extract.
Pour into a fondue dish. Keep hot.

Fruit presentation:
On a large serving platter, arrange cantaloupe balls, honeydew melon quarters, bunches of grapes, strawberries and apples.
Dip the fruit in the hot maple fondue.

Suggestion

To keep melon fresh, remove seed just before serving.
