Recipe ingredients
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) paprika
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) basil
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) oregano
- 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) dry mustard
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) ground black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. (7 mL) onion powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. (7 mL) garlic powder
- 3/4 tsp. (4 mL) cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) sugar
- 4 x 7 oz. (200 g) tuna steaks, 3/4 in. thick (1.9 cm)
- 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) olive oil *
Preparation
Preheat the barbecue to medium heat.
Mix all the ingredients, except the tuna steaks and olive oil.
Brush both sides of the tuna steaks with olive oil.
Sprinkle 5 mL (1 tsp) of the seasoning mixture on each side of the fish steaks.
Cook the fish steaks for 3 to 4 minutes on each side.
The fish steaks can be cook directly on the barbecue grill, on a sheet of aluminum foil or in a fish broiler.
The fish can be baked in the oven at 180 C (350 F) for 8 to 10 minutes.
