Recipe ingredients
- 1 head Romaine lettuce
- 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) fat-free or regular croutons
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) Caesar dressing
- 2–3 Tbsp.parmesan (30-45 mL parmesan) cheese or grated soy cheese
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) Veggie Bacon Bits
- To taste Yves Veggie ham slices
Preparation
Lay head of Romaine on cutting board and cut lettuce into bite-size pieces, approximately 1-in. (2.5-cm) square.
Rinse lettuce in cold water and spin or pat dry with clean tea towel.
Place leaves in large bowl along with croutons, Caesar dressing, parmesan cheese and Veggie Bacon Bits.
Toss until leaves are coated with dressing.
Suggestion
Here's a healthy version of a perennial favorite, with 70 percent less fat. Drying the washed lettuce leaves serves two functions: it allows dressing to cling to leaves and it removes water that would otherwise dilute a very flavorful dressing.* We recommend Selection and Irresistibles products.
