Recipe ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp. (2 mL) olive oil
  • 4 slices Yves Canadian Veggie Bacon
  • 2 slices whole wheat bread
  • 1 Tbsp. (15 mL) light mayonnaise
  • 4 slices ripe tomato
  • Pinch salt
  • Pinch black pepper
  • 1 lettuce leaf

Preparation

Sauté Yves Veggie Bacon in oil over medium heat for 1 minute per side.
Toast bread and spread mayonnaise on inner sides of bread.
Place Yves Veggie Bacon and tomato on bottom piece of bread. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top of tomato.
Top with lettuce and bread. Cut in half and serve.

Suggestion

Healthy eating doesn't mean giving up scrumptious combinations like bacon-lettuce-tomato sandwiches! Using Yves fat-free Canadian Veggie Bacon, instead of 4 strips of regular bacon, cuts the fat content of this sandwich in half.
