Recipe ingredients

  • 2 cans (170 g) Selection light tuna, drained
  • 2 green onions, sliced thin
  • 2 stalks of celery, diced
  • 1/3 cup (80 mL) mayonnaise*
  • 2 Tbsp. (30 mL) sweet relish*
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) curry powder
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) grated sharp cheddar*
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 4 whole-wheat pitas

Preparation

In a bowl, mix all ingredients, except for lettuce and pitas, together.
Cut pitas in two and put half a leaf of lettuce in pita pocket.
Stuff pockets with tuna filling and serve with a salad of hearts of palm.

Suggestion

Use mini pitas for children's lunches.
