Recipe ingredients
- 1 cup (250 mL) whole-wheat flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 tsp. (2.5 mL) caraway seeds
- 4 tsp. (20 mL) baking powder
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) butter*, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup (180 mL) Canadian Ermite-type blue cheese, crumbled
- 2/3 cup (160 mL) milk
Preparation
Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
In a food processor, mix flour, salt, caraway and baking powder together.
Mix in butter to uniform consistency.
Add blue cheese and mix.
Add milk in a thin stream.
Mix 2 minutes on low.
Make a ball of the dough and roll it out 1/2in. (1.25 cm) thick.
Cut dough into circles with a cookie cutter.
Put scones on an oiled cookie sheet.
Bake 15 minutes.
Serve hot.
